Free CMS Version 4.2 with Quick Forms, Multi-Site and Google Data Mapping

Version 4.2 of the free CMS PDQ Portal is now available and has several major new features: - Create web forms that are fully integrated with the CMS using a single definition form. - Generate multiple related web sites from a single database (Great for organizations with departments or branches). - Display documents as points with popup info windows on a new Google Data Map portlet. Also included is a new demo database that contains simple photo gallery and ride sharing applications along with a full HTML newsletter design.

Another Open Source application has been added to the free PDQ Portal Content Management System. This add-on creates HTML newsletters directly from site content (or other Notes databases) and automatically converts the HTML for compatibility with the Notes email client.

New Domino Ajax CMS now has a Free version

The entry level version of PDQ Portal, previously priced at $999 is now free and comes with a number of open source applications. Much of PDQ Portal uses Jack Slocum's ExtJS JavaScript library. Grid, slideshow, Google maps and other Portlets can be created by filling in a web form and entering @formulas for data access. The CMS also includes a Knowledgebase, report generator, photo contest manager and more. All applications are open design.

et's talk about the creation and storage of Notes ID files for a moment. When you create a Notes ID for an end user, where do you put it? Do you keep a copy of it somewhere so that you have access to it in the future? What about the password? Do you use a generic password so that if a user forgets it you have a copy with a known password to give them? And when a user requires that original copy (because of a lost password or such) how do you deal with any changes that occurred from the time the id was created until the time they requested a new one? Things like name changes, certificate changes, encryption keys, etc? And what about users with multiple versions of the ID file - on shared computers or such?
